Splashing Out, Colneis Junior School The project will refurbish the currently unused open-air pool and transform it into a modern, enclosed and heated pool that can be used all year round. The Town And Bridge Community Garden, Ipswich and District Council for Voluntary Service The project will renovate a number of vacant plots at Maidenhall Allotments, Ipswich, in order to create a community garden. The land is currently disused and will provide a valuable community resource for all ages. The garden will feature growing areas, a sensory garden and accessible toilets. The community will be supported to grow fruit, vegetables, plants and herbs as a way of improving their health and well-being. Ipswich £80,000
Tennis for All at Wickham, Wickham Market Partnership The project will provide additional sporting facilities in Wickham Market. Three hard tennis courts will be installed, and a tennis club will be developed to encourage active participation by residents of the village and surrounding areas. Wickham Market £80,000

The students, who have severe learning difficulties, will have a more interactive learning environment and will be able to play outside with other local groups, play schemes and mainstream student bodies. Pavilion Project, Totternhoe Lower School The project will remove an old, disused swimming pool from the school site and replace it with an outdoor learning space in the form of a covered wooden pavilion, which would enhance the landscape and provide an outdoor facility for the pupils and the wider community. Golden Gardens, Bedfordshire Pilgrims Housing Association The project aims to convert two unused and vandalised garage sites into community gardens. Crossroads Young Carers Project, West Anglia Crossroads Caring for Carers The project will provide help, support and group sessions to young carers under 19 whose lives are restricted by their caring responsibilities. It would offer one on one support, days out, life skills and focus days, short projects and residential trips. It will begin carer groups in schools and encourage carers to become volunteers. Shocott Spring Community Woodland, Marston Vale Trust

The project will fund phase two of a three-phase expansion to the community woodland between the isolated communities of Shortstown and Cotton End, Bedfordshire.  It will involve the local community in creating more green space to accomodate the growing community, which is likely to double in size within the next few years as a result of 1,200 new houses being built. Coldstream Community Hall This project will convert part of a former church building, purchased by the Coldstream Community Trust in 1998, into a large multi-purpose community hall. Greystoke Green Room, Greystoke Primary School This project will redevelop a section of the existing playground to create a stimulating area to be used as an outdoor classroom. The area will incorporate a number of different stimuli for learning and play for both the school and local community. Coldingham Public Hall Refurbishment The project is the third phase of developing a multi-use community space through the refurbishment of the village hall. The aim of the project is to provide a community space that will not only meet the needs of the residents of the village but also of the wider community and visitors.The Peoples Millions project is centred on the improvement of the theatre and arts function of the hall. Dressing Room Rebuild, Corn Exchange Theatre Company The project will enable the group to remove existing theatre dressing-rooms and replace them with new ones to be built with lift access to the level of the stage. This will allow greater access for wheelchair bound users who are currently restricted due to stepped access. The improved facility will open the work of the organisation to the wider community. Raising the Roof of the Peace Hall, Rowney Green Peace Memorial Hall Rowney Green Peace Memorial Hall would have a new roof if they secure the people’s vote. The existing flat roof at the rear of the hall is in a state of disrepair and reduces the hall’s capacity. Play in the Park, The Friends of Cripplegate Park The group would makeover an outdated and underused play area benefiting 5,000 local people. They also intend to develop activity spaces in different areas of the park, complementing those that already exist. Pool Project, Friends Of Thomas Russell Junior School The project would upgrade the school’s open-air swimming pool with a conservatory style sliding roof extension. A disabled changing area and toilet would be added, together with a new gated entrance to make the pool accessible to all and improve security. The group would also install solar powered pool heating to reduce and the impact on the environment. The improvements would encourage increased use by community groups and the public. Oak Farm Project, Pathways-Shropshire Pathways - Shropshire would refurbish an unused farm building to include a village history archive, bakery and farm shop selling locally grown produce. Our Back Field, Hunger Hill Action Group The Hunger Hill Housing estate in Bolton would see currently redundant waste land adjacent to a busy motorway transformed to a wildlife haven.The land has naturally regenerated itself following demolition and copses of native trees, open grassy areas and ponds can all be found there. The site suffers from fly tipping, vandalism and off-road motor bikes so if successful the project could reclaim the space for safe community use. Bolton £80,000
A Facelift for the Smallest Show on Earth, Plaza Community Cinema The Plaza Community Cinema would receive a facelift if they manage to secure the people’s vote. Based in Waterloo, Sefton, the cinema operates as a community facility providing social and education programmes that address a wide-range of issues in a deprived area. The building’s frontage would be renovated to enhance the overall appearance of the cinema in a bid to increase levels of attendance. Sefton £50,000
Padiham Riverside Nature Trail, Padiham Town Council Padiham Town Council would like to make the river a focal point in the community, creating a well-defined riverside walkway with seating and litter bins. If they win the people’s votes the project  would enable people to access the riverbank and observe wildfowl in their natural environment. Padiham £50,899
Wishing Well House Arts Project This arts project would provide music, dance and drama classes for children with autism. The children would be taught new communication and social skills through one-to-one tuition from sessional staff and volunteers.  A range of sensory equipment and musical instruments would also aid in their development. Meanwhile Garden's 'Biodiversity Project', Meanwhile Gardens Community Association The project will create two educational areas in a community garden. It will develop an educational pond garden where the community can learn about improving biodiversity, conservation, sustainability, recycling and composting. The project will also develop an education food growing facility where the community can learn about the importance of growing your own food and how easy this process is. North Kensington £80,000
Treehouse Landscape for Learning, The Treehouse Trust The project will transform the land around the National Centre for Autism Education into a wildlife area providing a habitat for birds, insects and wildlife. The group will plant trees and shrubs which, when matured, will provide a woodland walk to the boundaries of the site. The project will provide a safe, creative, sensory environment for the children at Treehouse. The group will work with local schools, other autism providers and community groups to extend opportunities and access to the facility. Muswell Hill £80,000
e-Wise, Centrepoint Soho The project to be delivered by Centrepoint will involve the installation of an innovative computer system, e-Wise at Bruce House, which is a base for homeless people. The system will be installed in each of the forty-nine rooms and enable the residents to have access to the internet, complete their studies, interact with friends and search and apply for jobs. Kick Start, The Pompey Study Centre The project will refurbish and fully equip a new study suite for reluctant learners. This suite will provide a focus to education and employment training opportunities for young people aged 14-19 years old that have been unsuccessful in mainstream education. The award will also enable the centre to be moved from it’s current location within a school to a dedicated building. Portsmouth £80,000
Making Some Quiet Time (MS Quiet Time), Multiple Sclerosis Society Of Britain & Northern Ireland The project would involve the extension to their current building which would provide a quiet room and garden area for people with MS within the Osborne centre. They also plan to purchase a mobility scooter for visitors, and erect chesnut fencing, handrails and information boards. Cool 2B Fit, Folkestone Sports Centre Trust The Folkestone Sports Centre aim to encourage young people to be more active through fun exercise. And if the public like them around 500 people will benefit from a fully inclusive dedicated toboggan slope and a young people's gym . Herne Bay Little Theatre, Playmakers The project will make improvements to the local theatre by refurbishing the site and installing a disabled toilet block and improve access for those in wheelchairs. An induction loop system and air conditioning will also be installed. These changes will provide much more comfort to service users, especially the elderly, the visually and hearing impaired. Sunlight Development Trust This People’s Million hopeful wants to  transform a poorly used room in their local community centre to a resource that can be used as a pain clinic, youth drop in and community advice centre. the project could benefit approximately 700 people. Herne Bay Cultural Trail, Herne Bay Town Partners Herne Bay Town Partners would like to create a cultural trail in Herne Bay, linking the town, park, and sea front. It would feature murals and statues, and would be supported by a brochure, website, and signage. Maximising The Longridge Magic, Longridge Boating Centre 27,000 young people would benefit from the Longbridge Boating Centre’s plans to construct a high ropes course to ‘maximise the Longridge magic’. The course would be a link across the river from the group's main site to an island that is used for adventure activities. Tower Square Regeneration, Carterton Town Council Carterton Town Council would give their tired Tower Square a makeover if they win the public vote. Working in partnership with Carterton Fast Forward Environment Group, the project would see an area of the town centre spruced up in a bid to cut down on late night anti-social behaviour. Electric Lift for the Farmoor Reservoir Pontoon, Accessible Sailing It would be plain sailing for all If this group win the People’s vote. They hope to provide an electric lift and walkway approach enabling disabled sailors easy access to the pontoon when the water level is too low for ramp access. The project would benefit about 200 disabled sailors and the grant would contribute towards the design and construction of the walkway to the electric lift and the design, construction and installation of the lift itself. Put a hop, step and jump into Bicester athletics, Bicester Athletic Club Bicester Athletic Club would like to make their long, high and triple jumps, discus and javelin run-up areas into all weather surfaces at Bicester Community College sports field. This new facility would be available to all the children at the college, their feeder schools and Athletic Club members. 2330 young people would benefit from the project. Modernise Scout Headquarters, 22nd Oxford Sea Scouts The 22nd Oxford Sea Scouts want to replace their leaking roof so a range of community groups can use the building. Currently the building is not only used by the Scouting Association but also by the local cameo club, youth groups, the City Council and British Canoe Union training centre. With around 1,000 people benefiting, they hope to see their headquarters used more frequently if they receive a grant to fix it. Oxford £33,605

Sir Bobby Robson Park, The EQUAL Partnership The EQUAL Partnership would create a recreational play area at Langley Park for the local community. Bandstand for Redcar, Flower Power for Redcar Flower Power for Redcar are battling for a seaside bandstand on the promenade for general use by the community and local groups to undertake musical performances.  Based in Coatham, the bandstand would be a focal point for the area benefiting around 10,000 people in a relatively deprived location. Pontoons, Derwenthaugh Boat Station of the Sea Cadet Corps Derwenthaugh Boat Station of the Sea Cadet Corps would use the People’s Millions to create pontoons on the river to allowing better access to boats. Currently the boats are on moorings which are accessed by dinghies and can only be reached at low tide. The project would install a rise and fall pontoon and walkway benefiting 500 Sea Cadet members. ECO-ED, Pennywell Youth Project The ECO-ED project would create an open space for young people, community groups, and local residents to access and learn new skills and experiences. It would provide a safe and comfortable environment for accessing information, resources and training including crop rotation, healthy living, physical activities, awareness of the environment and social events. The process of developing the project through cross community working is also seen as a key part of raising people's confidence and skill levels in the Dolgellau area. EYST Urban Fix Up Project, Ethnic Youth Support Team The project will upgrade the youth drop-in centre whilst training young people in environmentally sound construction skills.  The project will take place over 6-months and will train 12 young males and involve 100 members as volunteers. The Waterways Trust - Brimscombe Portwalls

The project would restore the walls of an eighteenth century port in the Cotswolds, by training local volunteers from disadvantaged groups in heritage construction. Dawlish Action For Youth Skate Park The project will create a skate park for young people in Dawlish.  Local skaters are currently using unsuitable open spaces in the town causing danger to themselves and annoyance to other residents. Disabled Sailing Adventure, Disabled Sailing Association The project would design and build a specially adapted thirty foot vessel to provide sailing activities to disabled and disadvantaged people within the community. Training would be offered so that disabled users could achieve recognised sailing qualifications and local people would have the opportunity to become involved as volunteers.   Torquay £80,000
Conversion of Chapel to Theatre, Kidz R Us Community Project The project would convert and refurbish a local chapel building into a permanent theatre for the local community to use and enjoy. It would involve the replacement of the existing temporary facilities with a permanent stage and orchestra pit and fit the building with a new roof. St Ives £78,428
ExeAccess, Exeter Community Transport Group The project will provide a taxi service using a vehicle that can be accessed by wheelchairs and scooters, with drivers who are specially trained and employed by the group.  The project would greatly benefit disabled users in the Exeter area and would run alongside the current Taxicard service, which enables disabled users to reclaim half of their fares. Community Action Through Sport (CATS) The project would tackle issues of anti-social behaviour and crime through the use of sports and community based activities. CATS would encourage young people to take part in activities that help and support the community and reward them for their positive action with vouchers for activities such as swimming, windsurfing and mountain biking. King's Mill Outdoor Play Project, King's Mill School King's Mill School is an area special school for children and young people aged 2 to 16 years with a range of learning, physical and sensory difficulties. The proposed project will redevelop the school playground into a stimulating learning environment, available to both school pupils and after school clubs from other special schools who make use of the site.  The area will incorporate areas for teaching, studying, play and socialising.  There will be an estimated 170 beneficiaries. Roots 2 Shoots, The Yorkshire Waterways Museum The project aims to landscape a derelict area and turn it into a large allotment with a picnic area and play area.  They want to fence off the plot and volunteers will grow the produce that will be used in the organisation's café.  The project will directly benefit 120 people. HYENA's Holmewood Youth Project, North East Derbyshire District Council The proposed project will develop a multi-use area for sports and recreation, in an attempt to reduce anti-social behaviour.  The land earmarked for the project is located at the heart of the community to maximize impact.  Coaching courses will be provided for football, basketball and netball.  Support will also be provided for children wanting to engage in graffiti art for the area.  Community open days will be arranged to volunteer for litter picking, cleaning, general tidying and planting.  There will be an estimated 947 beneficiaries. Pitheid Patter, Barony 'A' Frame Trust The Pitheid Patter project would provide interpretative materials, signage and a heritage garden at the site of the Barony 'A' Frame which was listed after the Barony pit closed in 1989. The project would also recruit and train volunteer heritage guides. This is part of phase two of an oral history project about the lives of the miners who worked at the pit.
