The new Big Lottery Fund site has been designed to meet Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI) Content Accessibility Guidelines set by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).

We aim to ensure the site conforms to 'Double-A' standards wherever possible.  Here are the main features included on our new website.

Text size

You can now change the text size of the website by clicking on the quick link buttons at the top of every page.

High contrast version

There is also a quick link button at the top of every page to change between the default and the high contrast version of the website.

Alt tagging

All images have been tagged to show a description of the image. If you want to see this information you can hover your mouse over the image area.

Video captioning and transcripts

Our aim is to caption all of the Big Lottery Fund videos so that subtitles can be seen as the film plays. In the meantime, you can read a full transcript for each video on the site. This can be seen in a pop up window so you can position the text where you choose.

Change your area

The Big Lottery Fund site can be viewed as a UK-wide site or, if you wish to read more specific local news and programme information,  you can select a different country or  England region.

Using the drop down menu, select one of the specified areas and click the arrow button. The site will refresh and the homepage will change to that of the chosen region. The map will have a pink section highlighting the chosen area and the title page will also give you the name of the region.

You can tell which area of the site you are in by looking at the header.
