Warning: Bogus awards

Have you received an email or a letter telling you that you have won a prize from Big Lottery Fund? If you have, it has not come from us. We do not run a lottery or give away prizes. We only make grants to people and organisations that have applied to us. Any lottery that asks for payment to claim a prize is not run by either the Big Lottery Fund or the UK National Lottery.

We advise you not to give your money or your details to unknown organisations or individuals.

Fraud

The Big Lottery Fund has an approved Anti-Fraud and Anti-Corruption Strategy. BIG aims to prevent fraud and corruption relating to its finances, grant programmes and operations in order to support its mission of bringing real improvements to the lives of people and communities most in need.

Do you suspect someone who is stealing from or defrauding BIG?
