Summary of the programme
The Community Spaces programme, run by Groundwork UK, opened on 19 March 2008. It will fund community groups who want to improve local green spaces such as play areas, community gardens, parks, wildlife areas and village greens, kick-about areas and pathway improvements.
There are currently four types of grants available:
- Small grants from £10,000 -£25,000Medium grants from £25,001 - £49,999
- Large grants from £50,000 - £100,000
- Flagship grants from £100,001 - £450,000
Deadlines
- Small and Medium grants - available on a rolling basis until January 2011
- Large grants - closes on 9 January 2009
- Flagship grants - closes on 30 January 2009
Are you eligible?
All legally constituted community groups (e.g. Friends Groups, Tenants and Residents’ Associations) can apply. However, please note that Community Spaces will not fund: individuals, sole traders, local authorities, parish or town councils, schools, health bodies, profit-making organisations, and other statutory bodies.
