This programme opened a final round of capital funding for heat generating technologies and energy efficient measures on 1 December 2011. The closing date for completed applications is 29 February 2012.
The Community Sustainable Energy (CSEP) programme, run by BRE (Building Research Establishment), opened on 7 April 2008. The programme will help community-based organisations in England reduce their environmental impact through the installation of energy saving measures and microgeneration technologies (producing heat or electricity on a small-scale from a low carbon source). The scheme will also fund development studies that help community organisations to find out if a microgeneration and energy efficiency project will work for them.

Deadline
The Community Sustainable Energy Grant scheme: Closure of the Project Development Funding scheme
Potential applicants should note that the Project Development Funding Scheme will close for applications at 5pm on Friday 8 October 2010. Given the revised closure date the capital grant deadline will be extended to 5pm on Friday 17 December 2010. Further details can be found on the CESP website.
CSEP will only award grants to not-for-profit community based organisations in England. This includes: community groups governed by a written constitution, registered charities and trusts, parish councils, schools and colleges, companies with a charitable purpose and community focus, mutual societies, church-based and other faith organisations.
