Summary of the programme

Child’s Play focuses on new approaches to structured play, and projects that apply must come up with creative play schemes that challenge and stimulate children. We will also support projects that make the link between play, nutrition and activity.

Child’s Play is aimed at children up to12 years old living in Wales, particularly for 8-12 year olds.

BIG has contracted Play Wales, an organisation with expertise in the field of children’s play, to help run this programme. They will help applicants to make sure that their projects are strategic and fit the programme’s priorities as well as local and national priorities.

Infrastructure project grants of up to £250,000 are available for revenue funding only, and play project grants of between £250,000 and £1 million are available for revenue and capital funding.

This is a one-stage application process consisting of two rounds. Infrastructure project grants are available in round one and play project grants in rounds one and two.
