Summary

The Big Lottery Fund is delivering myplace on behalf of the Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF). This is not Lottery funding.

myplace aims to deliver world class youth facilities driven by the active participation of young people and their views and needs. So far, myplace has funded 62 projects across England worth £240 million. To learn more about the projects funded please visit the news section

myplace offers a significant opportunity to those with the vision, ambition, and drive to deliver world class places for young people to go. It will reward those who:

  • are developing plans for ambitious, world class places that will offer young people the widest possible range of high quality activities and co-located support services;
  • are putting young people in the lead to plan and deliver dedicated youth projects driven by their views and needs;
  • are working in partnership across sectors to develop robust, financially sustainable co-funded projects that respond to local needs and priorities; and
  • require between £1m and £5m of capital investment to deliver an outstanding building project.

Is your project eligible for a myplace Round 2 grant?

We anticipate that demand for funding through Round 2 will be high. However, given the funding available we do not expect to be able to fund more than 10 projects across England. We have therefore reviewed the myplace application process and eligibility and assessment criteria to see how we can reduce the time and resources spent by organisations and young people developing applications that are unlikely to be successful. As a result, there will be a number of significant changes from Round 1. Please ensure you read the guidance notes carefully.

Round 2 will focus on projects that have already invested significant energy in well-developed plans for a world-class youth facility driven by the active participation of young people and their views and needs.

In contrast to earlier funding rounds, and in the light of the limited funding available, eligibility for Round 2 will be restricted to projects located in the one third most deprived areas of England From this list of 109 most deprived, we have excluded 14 LAD areas which are already in receipt of a myplace award and have a 13-19 year old population of less than 15,000. - 13KB. Of those areas that have already had a previous myplace award, only those with large youth populations will be eligible to put forward additional projects. Ensure that you only apply if your project is located in one of the areas listed.
