We have extended the People and Places programme which will remain open for applications until spring 2012. We will start reviewing the programme in early 2012 ensuring that we re-launch a new demand led programme as soon as the existing programme closes. We aim to have a seamless link between the two programmes therefore please do not rush to put your applications in as we will ensure that there is always a programme available for you to apply to. This new programme will build on the success of the existing People and Places programme and is likely to have many similarities
We will fund capital and revenue projects that encourage co-ordinated action by people who want to make their communities better places to live. We will support local and regional projects throughout Wales that focus on:
The main aim is to bring people together to create real improvements to communities and the lives of people most in need. We want your project to be community led – so helping people to develop the skills and confidence to become more involved in their community is an integral aspect to this programme.
We also encourage organisations to work together, and we’ll accept applications from organisations based anywhere in the UK. However, projects must mainly benefit people in Wales. Organisations not currently working in Wales should be able to demonstrate that they are aware of social and policy issues that are relevant to the local area and the project.
Under this programme we will only make grants to voluntary, community or public sector organisations either working separately or together.
