As part of Investing in Communities, Supporting 21st Century Life wants to fund projects that build stronger families and stronger communities. It aims to improve the quality of family life by helping families most in need to deal with the challenges of family life, intervening early to prevent poverty and disadvantage and give children a better chance in life.
We will fund projects that bring people together, create understanding, help people think about their future and reduce isolation.
We expect to fund a wide range of activities and services such as parenting and family support as well as advice and tailored support to help people access services. Projects can encourage mentoring, befriending and peer support. They can also support activities, such as play, volunteering and outdoor experiences.
We have identified five challenges of family life we want to fund and five outcomes, or long term changes, we want to achieve through Supporting 21st Century Life.
To find out which challenges we want to fund, the outcomes we want to achieve and how they are related read our Investing in Communities
guidance notes Investing in Communities Guidance notes - 492KB.
Through this investment area we will also provide targeted support and development funding.
You must also remember to consider equalities, empowerment and the environment in the design and delivery of your project when applying through this investment area.
