The Big Lottery Fund's 2014 Communities Discussion at The Gathering was the first chance for everyone involved in the voluntary and community sector to have their say where Lottery money could go in support of Glasgow's 2014 Commonwealth Games. Across the afternoon of 19 June we hosted a series of debating sessions and this is your chance to hear the speakers and what they had to say.

Councillor Archie Graham Executive Member for Culture and Sport, Glasgow City Council Councillor Graham is currently the Council’s Executive Member for Culture and Sport and has responsibility for the delivery of the Commonwealth Games in 2014. He represents the Council on various Cultural and Sporting bodies including the Riverside Museum Appeal Trust and Glasgow 2014 Limited.
Chris Robison Policy Director, Scottish Sports Association Chris Robison joined the SSA as Policy Director in May 2004. He leads on policy matters for their members ensuring that the voice of governing bodies of sport in Scotland is heard at the highest levels. Chris also sits on the SSA Board.
Eddie Flanagan Head of Policy & Performance – Leisure Services, Manchester City Council Having worked through two Olympic Bids and the hugely successful Commonwealth Games in Manchester in 2002, Eddie was responsible for the commissioning of the World Class Sporting facilities in post games operation
Helen Dale volunteer Manchester Commonwealth Games – 2002 In 2002, she volunteered for the Commonwealth Games in Manchester and trained to be an assistant in the Athlete’s Village looking after Team Canada. Helen took part in both the opening and closing ceremonies and even met the Queen.
Ian Manson Chief Executive - Clyde Gateway Ian has recently been appointed the Chief Executive of the Clyde Gateway Urban Regeneration Company, leading the regeneration of a large part of Glasgow’s East End, and parts of South Lanarkshire, in the context of major investment from the M74, and the 2014 Commonwealth Games.
Kate Vincent Head of Sport and Deputy Director of Public Health - Scottish Government In November 2007, just after Glasgow was awarded the Commonwealth Games for 2014, Kate was appointed as Head of Sport and Deputy Director of Public Health and Wellbeing in the Scottish Government. Kate’s division is responsible for overseeing the delivery of those Games and, working closely with stakeholders and colleagues across the Scottish Government, is leading on the development and delivery of the legacy plan for the Commonwealth Games.
Louise Martin Chair, sportscotland Louise Martin CBE was appointed as Chair of sportscotland in May 2008. She is also the Immediate Past Chair of the Commonwealth Games Council for Scotland. Louise has a long and ongoing association with the Games as a competitor, team manager, and an administrator.
Terry McLernon Head Coach Drumchapel Table Tennis Club and Chairman, West of Scotland Table Tennis League Terry has been coaching in the Drumchapel area for over 20 years. His experience in coaching has resulted in many players going from grass roots to Scottish Internationalists. Terry is also in charge of coaching & development for Table Tennis Scotland.
