Supporting Positive Transitions

All people experience transitions or significant changes throughout their lives and research has shown that people are at their most vulnerable at points of life transition. Transitions are an inevitable part of life, but can be anticipated or unanticipated.

Better services at key times can help people get through difficult transitions or prevent people from making negative transitions such as falling into debt. The Big Lottery Fund has delivered a number of programmes that fund transitional interventions. Read more about different types of transitions and how we have responded to them.

The Coach House Trust’s Transitions to Inclusion The Big Lottery Fund in Scotland requires all Investing in Communities (IiC) grant holders to carry out self-evaluation of their project - 2,931KB project raises the self-esteem of adults most removed from society by providing employment and learning opportunities.

The Fairways Project This summary focuses on the key evaluation findings from the YPF Scotland programme. - 439KB helps young people with learning difficulties or disabilities to make the transitions to adulthood.
