What's it all about?

The programme is now closed

The 'Grants to Individuals' strand of the Young People's Fund, otherwise known as the Big Boost, is now closed.

The Big Boost funded young people's ideas for projects that made a difference in their community. Grants of between £250 and £5,000 were available to help individuals and small groups of young people run a project in their area. Through this programme we have funded just over 3000 young people aged between 11 and 25  to transform their ideas into projects.

Projects have helped young people to contribute to their community or helped them to set up small businesses that also improve the economic prosperity of their communities. Young people have been involved in planning and carrying out projects, particularly disadvantaged young people.

This programme was delivered for the Big Lottery Fund by Unltd and it's partner organisations, Prince’s Trust, Changemakers and the Scarman Trust.
