Child’s Play focuses on new approaches to structured play. Successful projects had to come up with creative play schemes that challenge and stimulate children or ways of linking play, nutrition and activity.

Child’s Play is aimed at children up to12 years old living in Wales, particularly 8-12 year olds.

BIG contracted Play Wales, an organisation with expertise in the field of children’s play, to help run this programme. They helped applicants ensure their projects were strategic and fitted with the programme’s priorities as well as local and national priorities.

Infrastructure project grants of up to £250,000 were available for revenue funding only, and play project grants of between £250,000 and £1 million were available for revenue and capital funding.
