England
Total available: £225 Million

In England, the New Opportunities Fund awarded grants of almost £218 million to create 555,235 new childcare places and successfully exceeded its targets.


Northern Ireland
Total available: £12.9 Million

In Northern Ireland, the out of school hours childcare programme was allocated £9.9 gross million to create 12,000 childcare places. It also received an additional £3 million for sustainability projects and extra capital.

The New Opportunities Fund has awarded grants of £11.4 million to create 14,494 new childcare places and successfully exceeded its targets.


Scotland
Total available: £31.2 Million

In Scotland, the out of school hours childcare programme was allocated £28.3 million to create 30,000 childcare places. It also received an additional £6 million for sustainability projects and extended start-up and continuation funding.

The New Opportunities Fund has awarded grants of £27.7 million to create 48,034 new childcare places.


Wales
Total available: £15.8 Million

In Wales, the out of school hours childcare programme was allocated £14.3 million to create 22,000 childcare places. It also received an additional £1 million for sustainability projects and training costs.

The out of school hours childcare programme funded over 23,000 new out of school hours childcare places in Wales and distributed over 338 grants worth over £14 million.
