The Big Lottery Fund are seeking a lead partner to manage and deliver a £25 million UK wide funding programme. Rethink Good Health aims to influence and inform policy and practice UK-wide in preventing alcohol misuse amongst older people, specifically those aged 50 and over.

Rethink Good Health will be brought about through developing a portfolio of individual projects which can be used to gather evidence of what works and form a comprehensive communication and influencing plan to inform policy and practice UK wide. We will make one award only to a UK lead partner and expect to announce the successful UK lead in the Autumn of 2014.

What are we looking for?

Rethink Good Health will support a portfolio that brings about the following outcomes:

  • Policy and practice about preventing alcohol dependency in later life is better informed.
  • Improved health and well being for people age 50 and over who are at risk of developing alcohol dependency.
  • More effective services are delivered to prevent alcohol dependency amongst the ageing population.
