People and Places will fund capital and revenue projects that encourage co-ordinated action by people who want to make their communities better places to live. We will support local and regional projects throughout Wales that focus on:
- revitalising communities,
- improving community relationships, or
- enhancing local environments, community services and buildings.
From 12 October 2015, we are making changes to People and Places programme eligibility:
- Projects will be able to apply for up to 5 years funding
- Projects above £500K will no longer need to provide evidence that they are innovative in design.
The changes reflect feedback from our customers and all other programme eligibility will remain the same. Revised application forms and guidance notes will be available on our website at this time. For more information please contact us at email@example.com.
The main aim is to bring people together to create improvements for communities and the lives of people most in need. We want your project to be community led – so helping people to develop the skills and confidence to become more involved in their community is an integral aspect of this programme.
To demonstrate this to us, please clearly evidence the need for your project and tell us how the project addresses these needs and issues faced by your community. In particular you should include:
- evidence of research, local or national strategies etc
- evidence of consultation with beneficiaries, stakeholders and other organisations
- the outcome of your research and consultation and how your project will address the issues highlighted.
Under this programme we will only make grants to voluntary, community or public sector organisations either working separately or together. We’ll accept applications from organisations based anywhere in the UK.
However, projects must mainly benefit people in Wales. Organisations should be able to demonstrate that they are aware of social and policy issues that are relevant to Wales, the local area and the project.
We will assess your stage one application and inform you of our decision. If you are unsuccessful and wish to re-apply please ensure you have fully addressed our feedback.
People and Places will fund projects that support co-ordinated action by people to make their communities better places to live. It will support local projects and projects that operate in more than one geographical area, regionally or throughout Wales.
People and Places aims to enable people to work together for strong communities, social justice and better rural and urban environments.
