People and Places
Funding capital and revenue projects that encourage co-ordinated community action
- Funding size:
- £5,001 - £1,000,000
- Total available:
- Up to £15 million each year
- Application deadline:
People and Places will fund projects that enable people to work together for strong communities, social justice and better rural and urban environments in Wales. We want to empower local people to make their communities better places to live.
From 31 July 2017, we’re making some important changes to People and Places based on customer feedback. These changes will make the process simpler and faster and medium sized grants of up to £100,000 will be more accessible. To allow us to fund more life changing projects across the length and breadth of Wales, we will be reducing the maximum grant size to £500,000. We will continue to accept the current stage one application form and applications of over £500,000 using the existing application form until 31 October 2017. If you are thinking of applying for more than £500,000 using the current application form, or you would like further information or to discuss a project idea, please give us a call on 0300 123 0735 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
We are looking for projects that can show that they have involved the local community and beneficiaries in their development. We will ask for evidence of research and consultation in the application form.
We will only make grants to voluntary, community or public sector organisations either working separately or together. We will accept applications from organisations based anywhere in the UK, but projects must mainly benefit people in Wales. Organisations should be able to demonstrate that they are aware of social and policy concerns that are relevant to Wales, the local area and the project.
People and Places can fund capital and revenue costs up to £1 million. We can fund projects for up to five years.
If you are looking to apply for capital funding to buy, refurbish or improve land and buildings, please contact our Wales Advice Team on 0300 123 0735 or email@example.com to discuss your project and what we’ll need from you.
