"I’ve worked with Big Lottery Fund at a grass roots level for many years and seen the great work that they support. I’m delighted to be joining the England committee at a time when the Fund starts to deliver its Strategic Framework through to 2021. Wider circumstances mean these are challenging times for the most vulnerable in our communities. We need to rise to these challenges and work together to find and support enterprising, inclusive and sustainable solutions to address these challenges."
Since 2006 Tarn has been chief executive of Cornwall Neighbourhoods for Change, a charity and social enterprise which works with local communities to regenerate Cornwall’s neglected social housing estates. As CEO she has undertaken a number of strategic influencing roles both through the VCSE sector nationally through the 20:20 Leadership Commission and as the South West representative for NCVO members. From 2002 she was community operations director where she had responsibility for delivery of learning, employment, community safety, play and community development programmes.
Prior to this Tarn was head of finance, fundraising and ICT at Bromley By Bow Centre in East London following ten years tackling social exclusion in housing, learning and employment at organisations such as Shelter, London East Tec and supported housing schemes.
In Cornwall, Tarn is also equality and diversity champion on the Local Management Committee and Programme Management Group for Convergence and a member of the Employment & Skills Board. She also sits on the Cornwall College Council and is one of the founding members of the Safer Stronger Cornwall Consortium.
