The impact of isolation and loneliness on mortality has been estimated to be equivalent to smoking 15 cigarettes a day. The Reconnections Social Impact Bond (SIB) aims to directly reduce loneliness and isolation for 3,000 people over the age of 50 in Worcestershire. Reconnections is the first social impact bond (SIB) in England aimed at reducing loneliness and social isolation. This in-depth review report of this SIB is the second of a series being produced as part of CBO Fund Evaluation.
This paper sets the options available to assess how Value for Money is traditionally assessed and identifies the most appropriate approaches for evaluating the success of certain Big Lottery Fund Support and Development contracts. The guide is not intended to provide detailed information on methodologies or how the approaches can be implemented.
Qualitative research conducted to explore the potential for open data to benefit the Fund and its stakeholders. The research generated a series of recommendations which are categorised as ranging from quick wins, to potential pilots, to strategy development.
The insights in this review have been drawn from evaluations of the Fund’s programmes to summarise our learning about how a grant holder can help their project to be sustainable.
