What’s it all about?


Parks for People is a joint initiative between the Big Lottery Fund and the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF). The programme awards grants of between £100,000 and £5 million to revitalise historic parks and cemeteries.

Impact report

The Parks for People programme has just published its latest impact report. This considers a number of benefits from the programme, on the parks and cemeteries, on the people who use and work in them and on the organisations responsible for their management. Reported benefits include a rise in the number of volunteers, a rise in visitor numbers, improvements in natural habitats and an increase in additional investment, among other achievements.

What are we looking for?

Our vision is that everyone should have access to a local park for enjoyment and recreation. Parks for People builds on the commitment of BIG and HLF to bring real improvements to local environments by making a lasting impact on the lives of local people and the places where they live.
